Plastician’s Terrorhythm Recordings is leading the charge on the future beats movement with AWE positioned on the front lines. The up-and-comer made a powerful advance earlier this year with “Crystals,” continuing the push with official remixes of The Knocks and, most recently, Plastician himself on “Safari.” AWE is now offering fans an inside look at his creative process with an exclusive track through his DAW of choice, FL Studio. AWE on the project:
This project is a good example of how I mix down and EQ in FL Studio 11. For this track I only used stock plugins and samples, but most of my EQ and compression are done with the fantastic Image-Line plugins anyway. I use the multiband compressor on everything to keep stuff separated and clean.
Pay attention to the percussion and hats channel, I use chorus and reverb on it in every song I write. The chords are all done in Wasp which is a synth that has been around since early versions of FL – it is extremely simple and light on CPU and it sounds very unique! Thanks to Splice for giving me this opportunity and I hope you enjoy looking at how I work in FL.
