The world has changed in front of our eyes.
But amidst the uncertainty, we’ve seen so many inspiring reminders of the power and resilience of human creativity. From the improvised choirs on Italy’s balconies to the livestreamed concerts popping up across the globe, music is continuing to do what it does best: inspire us, comfort us, and connect us.
Music matters more than ever right now, and we feel a responsibility to keep you inspired so that you can keep inspiring the world.
While all of us are feeling the impact of the pandemic, certain communities are harder hit than others, and musicians are one of them. We’re going to do our best to help.
We’re grateful that Splice Sounds puts money into the pockets of musicians every day (over $25 million to date) and we’re ramping up our efforts to grow that number significantly and quickly by sourcing more samples for the catalog fast and advancing payment for that content. We’re going to focus our new content outreach as much as possible on the types of musicians who need it most today: those who rely on live performances to make a living.
In the days and weeks ahead, you’ll also see new experiments from us designed to educate, motivate, and build community, while putting musicians to work as teachers, coaches, and content creators.
In the meantime, we’ve curated a list of resources that could be helpful to musicians right now. Whether you need to get help or want to give it, this list is for you. From financial assistance to mental health support, the list covers resources that touch the economic and emotional wellness of musicians. Explore it here.
We’ll get through this together.
Sincerely,
Steve & the Splice Team
